Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
In a medium saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter completely. Allow to cool slightly so it doesn’t cook the eggs later.
Stir in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla extract for flavor.
Sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder to avoid lumps and then fold the dry ingredients gently into the wet mixture. Don’t overmix — just combine.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, checking doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center — it should come out with a few moist crumbs but no raw batter.
Let brownies cool completely before slicing into squares for rich, fudgy texture.
