– 400g (14 oz) pasta (spaghetti or linguine) – Zest and juice of 2 lemon – 2 tablespoons butter – ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese – Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste – Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional)

Step 1 

Cook Pasta: Boil pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

Prepare Sauce: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add lemon zest and juice, stirring to combine.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat.

Adjust Consistency: Gradually add reserved pasta water until the sauce reaches desired consistency.

Add Cheese: Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
